A quick intro
§01

Introduction

I'm a UX Engineer, a hybrid of Product Designer and Software Developer (some companies call the role Design Engineer instead). In practice that means I can take a project from a rough idea through to shipped code, with no handoff in between. My most recent project was Tanda's design system, which shipped with 68 components and 97 docs pages. Alongside it I built a suite of custom AI tooling for the team: Claude Code skills, slash commands, and an in-house design preview tool that replaced our Magic Patterns subscription.

Mentoring

Supporting women in tech

I've spent several years mentoring for SheCodes, a Brisbane program teaching women to code.

I've mentored for both the HTML/CSS and the JavaScript/React courses at SheCodes. In 2023 I was the lead mentor for HTML/CSS, working with the course coordinator to improve the course material. One highlight: in 2022 a SheCodes graduate joined the design team at Tanda as a Junior UX Engineer, and I'm proud to have played a small part in her journey.
